ACCOUNTANCY STAFF BOOST CHARITY APPEAL

Employees at Blackpool-based specialist accountants for contractors Danbro turned out in force to show their support to colleagues taking part in the Cancer Research UK 'Race for Life' at the town's De Vere hotel earlier this month.

Around 13 runners from the company were taking part in the latest stage of Cancer Research UK's flagship event, which brings together thousands of women each year to walk, jog or run five kilometres and raise money to help beat cancer.

To date, four million women have raised over £240 million for Cancer Research UK's life-saving work, while the gathering on July 2nd saw 1,800 women from across the North West get together, many talking part in memory of a friend or loved one who they had lost to cancer, or who was still battling the disease.

Danbro's Zoe Irvine said, "It was uplifting to see such a positive turn out. We managed to raise £400, which was a great feeling of triumph. I'm sure we will turn up next year to show our support and hope to earn double the amount."
